Wonderboy

I feel like it coming like a come on.
They tell me that’s just the dopamine
And I tell them it’s the blood in my toes
Slowdancing up my body.

They don’t know there is a secret waltz in the sunlight
And that sometimes my pulse picks up the beat.
I tell them there are ways to listen
Other than the ears.

The sky opens her eyes and calls me baby.
She’s all iris and tells me I’m her voice.
They tell me that’s just delusion
And I tell them it’s the cells of my fingers
Learning to dilate the way pupils let the light in.

They don’t know there is food in the sunlight
And that sometimes my skin feels photons like Fat sungolds on my tongue ready to burst.
I tell them there are ways to eat
Other than the mouth.
