Syntony

I’m in a groove.
Words come out feeling like payday
and the next one can never come soon enough.
They say nothing in life is free so I’ll keep
cashing in my soul for another taste
and as long as it takes to carve the
Earth with language like an impact crater
you can see from space.

I’m in a dance.
My dreams bloom like bouquets in
colors I can’t name with scents that
hold the secrets of the universe.
I haven’t learned the language of
fragrance so I’ll let my body show
what I’ve learned with the way
I overwhelm every second of life with
infinite desire for pure sensation,
pure force, pure being.

I’m in a flow.
If life is a series of tradeoffs,
I’ll trade it all for the simple things
that came before language.
Give me blue sky with clouds
skimming like passing thoughts.
Give me solid ground like love
that holds and resists.
Give me sun, its fusion heat
on my skin like a lingering kiss,
a taste, a tease of its burning sublimity.
